Why You Should be More Concerned About Viral Infection
from Ticks, Mosquitoes, and Various Insects Than Lyme Disease
By Dr. Donald Liebell
Antibiotics cannot and do not kill viruses. Did you know that ticks and numerous other bugs transmit viruses? This is the “elephant in the room” that appears to be virtually ignored.
Viral infection may be the most significant health challenge of the century.
Arbovirus (bug-transmitted virus) infections are considered worse than Lyme disease. Ticks transmit the extremely nastyPowassan virus.
Colorado tick fever is also from a virus.
Mosquitoes are well known to spread viruses
such as West Nile, Zika, dengue, and chikungunya.
However, the only medical advice offered
is avoiding bug bites with protective clothing and
chemical repellents, and to take measures to support
one’s immune system.
There is no conventional pharmaceutical medication available.
It’s bad enough that we have the infectious diseases spread by ticks… we’ve got West Nile and other viruses that are spread by mosquitoes to worry about too.
And we should!
The Dallas epidemic (August 2012), which left 10 known dead is a good enough reason for concern.
If you are like me, and most people in our area, you are plagued by mosquito bites. The ominous specter of West Nile virus looms over us, as this nasty, illness-causing microbe rears its ugly head in the summer, and into the fall. Birds are the most common victim of the virus, which is known to be transmitted by mosquito bite.
As you can see from the above CDC map, West Nile virus may be present throughout America! Oddly, however, according to the CDC, West Nile virus does NOT cause symptoms in a whopping 80 percent of people infected with it. It is suggested that people older than 50 are more at risk.
I think what the CDC really means is that people who have weaker immune systems are at higher risk to be affected by West Nile virus, since the aging American population isn’t exactly the healthiest group of people on the planet.
Symptoms of West Nile Virus
The CDC suggests that only approximately “one in 150 people infected with West Nile virus develop severe illness.”
Such serious symptoms, which can appear flu-like including: high fever, headache, neck stiffness, stupor or disorientation, coma, tremors, convulsions, muscle weakness, vision loss, numbness, paralysis, fatigue, and joint pain
According to the CDC, these rare, but severe symptoms “may last several weeks, and neurological effects may be permanent.” But they do report that up to 20 percent of people who become infected suffer from “fever, headache, body aches, nausea, vomiting, and sometimes swollen lymph glands or a skin rash on the chest, stomach, and back.” It can take up to two weeks for symptoms to develop.
What About Treatment for Those Afflicted with West Nile Virus?
Here’s what “mainstream” medicine is offering the public…
NOTHING... Zilch... Nada. Zippo!
Yes! That's it. No treatment, other than drugs for symptoms (which have no effect whatsoever on the viral infection itself) is available. The CDC says, “There is no specific treatment for West Nile virus infection.”
We’re told that people suffering only milder symptoms will get well on their own. The CDC website actually says “people do not necessarily need to seek medical attention for this infection though they may choose to do so.”
West Nile virus is all over the country. But all that the “authorities” offer you is “prevention.” In my opinion this is laughable, as this merely suggests that you prevent West Nile virus by rarely going outside during the summer (especially in the buggy evenings)… or regularly spraying your skin down with products containing a highly questionable chemical, called DEET (Chemical Name: N,N-diethyl-m-toluamide or N,N-diethly-3-methyl-benzamide). DEET is a known neurotoxin—it can harm your central nervous system... yet it is government approved for your skin.
The bottom line is that mainstream medicine (and Federal government) offers you neither realistic prevention, nor any medical treatment whatsoever for West Nile virus. You’re on your own, as far as conventional medicine and the government agencies are concerned.
The choices the “authorities” give you:
You can “roll the dice” with daily exposure to a chemical poison… or
Hope you don’t get bitten by mosquitoes carrying West Nile virus.
What About Zika?
The CDC offers essentially the same support for Zika virus, which can be seen in its distribution from the CDC map below. They also report that many people infected with Zika virus won’t have symptoms or will only have mild symptoms. The CDC reports that the most common symptoms of Zika are fever, rash, joint pain, conjunctivitis (red eyes), muscle pain, and headache.
Chikungunya Virus is another horrible arbovirus. It is transmitted to humans by mosquitoes. Like many other viral diseases, fever and joint pain are common symptoms, along with headaches, muscle pain, swelling, and rashes.
According to cdc.gov, "prior to 2006, chikungunya virus disease was rarely identified in U.S. travelers.
From 2006‒2013, studies identified an average of 28 people per year in the United States with positive tests for recent chikungunya virus infection (Range 5‒65 per year). All were travelers visiting or returning to the United States from affected areas in Asia, Africa, or the Indian Ocean. places with air conditioning or that use window and door screens."
Microbes without Medicine:
Viruses cannot be killed by antibiotics. Why don’t we have drugs to kill viruses? Viruses are protected from drugs because they reside inside human cells. The few antiviral medicines that do exist merely help keep viruses in check.
Doctors are sternly warned by government health authorities to never treat viral illness with antibiotics. Unfortunately this axiom of medicine is violated in daily practice with prescriptions being written for symptoms of colds and assorted infections for which no actual testing is performed—“just in case.”
It is my opinion that more of the symptoms suffered by victims of tick-triggered illness are due to viruses. It could certainly be the case that initial tick-borne infection weakens the immune system—leaving it more susceptible to numerous viruses, many of which resided in the body prior to the bite. It seems likely that many of the persistent symptoms associated with Lyme disease that remain after substantial antibiotic therapy are caused by viruses—microbes for which there is no medicine capable of killing.
There are numerous types of tick and insect-borne, airborne, food and water-borne, and human contact viruses. Humans are constantly infected by viruses, but most of the time no symptoms are felt. Viruses can cause diseases ranging from colds to cancer.
However, there are no prescription medications to kill viruses. The Centers for Disease Control have reported on their website (CDC.gov) that as many as“95% of adults between 35 and 40 years of age have been infected.”
In my experience, many of the symptoms from which Lyme disease-obsessed patients suffer are caused by numerous types of tick and mosquito-borne viruses, rather than exclusively Borrelia bacteria.
I take arboviruses very seriously! Strategies to strengthen one's immune system to attack bug-borne viruses are critical for better health and prevention.
If you are not a patient of mine, or you’ve never read articles on my website, nor seen me on television… you may not realize that my wellness and prevention practices are focused on homeopathic support. Its purpose is to naturally and safely support the body so ones immune system can fight off illness, including infectious disease, naturally. I do not by any means claim to treat West Nile or any other arbovirus; I treat the whole person with natural, preventative, and corrective treatments. .
On the other hand, if you are currently a patient, you might predict that the Liebell Clinic already has homeopathic bio-energetic products specifically designed to support your immune system to fight off arboviruses, among other microbes. Mainstream medicine offers nothing.
I know I’ll be accused of sounding like a broken record when I state that I am not claiming to medically treat Powassan, West Nile, Zika, or other bug-borne viruses. The homeopathic bio-energetic products I utilize are not treatments for any disease or condition; they are natural immune system supports, custom-made for my practice. I am quite certain that they are effective at helping our immune systems fight off viruses, based upon my patients clinical experiences.
As countless patients of mine can attest, this whole-body, safe, natural, affordable, and easy approach has been extraordinarily effect for recovering from the ravages of illness associated with chronic Lyme disease.
Arboviruses, like other microbes, can be dealt with beautifully by a healthy functioning human immune system. My job is to help people restore that healthy immune system.
Nevertheless, if you have any concerns that you have contracted West Nile, Powassan, Zika, or any other virus, you should by all means see your family medical doctor, or infectious disease specialist.
Once again, I do not claim that any complex homeopathic immune support product can “cure” you of arbovirus infection. However it is indeed the means by which patients of mine, family, and friends choose to try to prevent or overcome infection, and other illness.
